It Is a Lifestyle Change

Many people have a misconception where they believe that going on a diet is a temporary phase in their life where they survive on fruits, vegetables, and bland soups. Once they lose weight or reach their target weight they get into their old unhealthy eating habits. This is completely wrong, losing weight is a lifestyle change where you try to reform your current eating habits and try to eat healthy at least 80% of the time. So in order to do this, you should not simply survive on fruits and vegetables as it is not practical. Rather you should have a balanced diet which as an adequate amount of carbs, proteins and fat. So you eat the same things but healthier versions for example if you crave pizza then go for cauliflower pizza, you could make this at home it is super easy and tastes amazing. You could swap your unhealthy fried potato fries to baked sweet potato chips. You should also invest in things like protein powder. There are different flavours like for crepes which would be particularly useful when you crave for sugar.

You Need To Hit the Gym

Yes, you read that right, in order to lose weight you need to hit the gym. Although only 20% of weight loss depends on your workouts it is often a healthy way of losing weight and it helps to speed up the whole process. You might come across a lot of YouTube videos that claim that you don’t have to hit the gym in order to lose weight and it is important to make sure that you don’t fall for that trap. Most people find the gym boring and repetitive which makes it even hard to be consistent with their workouts. So you could swap between different activities, for example, you could get your daily dose of cardio done by playing your favourite sport, going for a jog at a nearby park or joining a dance class. If you are new to working out then don’t start too hard as you might injure yourself. Start with slow and easy workouts and gradually build your way up. Also working out on a regular basis could strain your muscles which could lead to injury so do take breaks and go for workouts every other day instead.

Lastly, we all are humans and sometimes despite your strict diet you might end up binging on your favourite dessert and that is okay. It is important that you don’t go too hard on yourself, try to make up for it the next day by having a low calorie intake and going easy on carbs. You could even burn it out at the gym by extending your work out time by fifteen to twenty minutes.

The above tips will be particularly useful for the ones who want to shred some fat!
